Binge read.

A few weeks ago, someone that I recently started following on Instagram posted a blog post about something that sounded interesting. I clicked over to read, and immediately became confused. Who was she talking about? I felt like there was a back story that I was missing, and characters that needed intros.

I had never thought about new readers being confused when I put up a blog post, but have avoided blogging completely until I could sit down and explain a few things.

Have you ever had a friend suggest a show on Netflix? You don't go to the most recent episode if you take their suggestion; you go to the very first episode. Let me take you through the important episodes around here. The same way that "We were on a break!" makes sense to Friends fans, I hope that you always leave this blog making sense of it all. Forget feeling inspired... I just want you to know what the heck I'm talking about. Thank you, random new blog that I discovered, for making me realize that I was inviting people to Season 4 Episode 10 of Hello Mess.

I started my blog as Fancy Kimmie, having pretty much no idea what I planned to write about. I believe that's evident in the very first post I ever wrote.

A month after starting my blog, I decided to use it as a platform to share my heart and connect with others. I wrote about the worst day of my life, and the second worst day.

Soon after that, I changed my blog to Live Fancy.

And I decided to get crafty. There are lots of crafts and project ideas throughout my site- the first one is linked above.

I then spent a lot of time writing about things that only family members care about. School stuff, kid photos, etc. Those posts are my favorite.

Then my blog changed to Sugar and Dots.

You can read an outdated-yet-still-accurate post all about myself + my family here.

You can read why I blog here.

And then I changed my blog to Hello Mess. You can read why here.

I turned 30 in November, and my husband Sedric turned 33 today. We have three kids. Our daughter Taylor is 10, our son Warner is 6, and our son Franklin (Franky) will be 2 in July.

I recently re-branded and re-launched my baby moccasin business Hello Moccs, and in the past month, went from a stay-at-home-mom to a work-at-home-mom. We are a one car family, and my husband has flawlessly and seemingly effortlessly taken over my normal mom duties while I work. I think the kids actually prefer that I spend the day working. Something about Dad not making them do chores or something.

I over-gram and post a bunch of pointless updates on Facebook, so if binge-reading isn't your thing, you can find me over there.

Oh, and for those of you who freak out over blog posts that don't have photos, here is a picture:

  1. What a great idea! I should do an intro post too!

  2. haha, love the photo! wow - couldn't be more exact. :)

  3. This made me laugh :)
I like how you ended with the photos for those who freak when a post doesn't have one. Nice touch.

  4. Ha! I usually don't like reading and see a post only for the pictures but I truly enjoyed reading all of this. Thank you for catching me up. I agree, it's so incredibly helpful!

  5. I took the shift from stay at home to work at home too, you make me laugh!

  6. Hi dear :) Your blog is so amazing lovely! I totally love your style. Would you like to follow each other? Let me know and I instantly follow you back. Check out my blog, leave a comment or anything else. Have a nice day and creative blogging for you :) xoxo
