And then she turned ten.

I haven't been avoiding my blog. I have read so many emails within the past day from readers checking in and asking if I still plan on blogging. I guess I shouldn't announce that I plan to write often and then disappear.

My daughter turned ten on the seventeenth, and we've been playing with her presents. Seriously. I haven't blogged because I have been making cake pops, painting fingernails, and crafting with glitter glue. We got the house clean for her party over the weekend, and without having to scrub floors and tackle dust bunnies like usual, I've had time to play with the kids. I should seriously hire a maid. Or clean really well on a more regular basis.

I am so thankful for this little lady. The girl who made me a mama. For a long time, I thought she was the only child I would ever have. And for a long time, I cherished every waking moment with her. Not that I don't cherish her now, but I was once obsessed with being her mom. I know some of you understand what I mean. She got me through a really dark time in my life. Thankful for her everyday.

She requested a photo shoot a few days ago with our new I Wear The Headress matching turbans, and she asked to pose "like zombies do... you know, like real models." So we did.

And we couldn't hold back the giggles.

I'll blog all about her party tomorrow! Sincerely sorry for being so quiet when I said I wouldn't be, but sometimes the Easy Bake Oven trumps all.

  1. Sorry for bugging you while you were having a seriously wonderful time with your little girl. I sometimes forget that we all have lives outside of blogging. Just missed your words. Happy Birthday to the newest member of the double digit club. My daughter joined the club recently as well. xoxo

  2. What a little cutie you have on your hands! These pictures are beautiful and I'm cracking up over her "like real models" comment! Happy belated birthday to your girl!

  3. So cute! Happy birthday! and can't wait to read about the partay!

  4. You girls are adorable! I love that she thinks model look like zombies!

  5. Awe happy birthday to your baby girl! My daughter turned 11 a few months back and I could not believe she is that old already and my actual baby turned 8 on Monday. They make my life brighter. Enjoy the moments with her. She will always be your baby, but she won't always be a child. Beautiful photos, beautiful ladies.
