Unfashion: So Cal Social Blog Conference

Earlier this month, I attended the SO CAL SOCIAL- a blog conference for Southern California bloggers.
Unlike other conferences, this one is spent... wait for it... shopping.
Yes.
Shopping.
Held in historic Orange, CA, this conference has you walking from shop to shop picking up swag during the "swag walk".
I came home with so many goodies.
Franky and I had a great time.
:)

Unfashion: Wearing what makes you feel most confident. Ignoring labels, trends, and tag size in order to look and feel your very best.

I wore a maternity dress.
I'm not pregnant.
And my shoes probably should have coordinated or something; I don't know the rules.
But I was comfortable.
And I surrounded myself with uplifting people.

I wish you the happiest day of unfashion, friends.

Vintage Sunshine product review.

Sweet Alyson from VINTAGE SUNSHINE asked me to review a product.
She created this little piece for me since the whole wide world she knows how much I adore elephants.

Isn't this little cutie sweet?
I still don't know where to hang it.
I kind of want one in every room.

Her stitches are nearly flawless, and her work is neat.
The only thing I would change on this hoop art is adding a tail to the elephant.
I'm a fan of a cute little elephant tails.
:)

Thank you, Alyson!
I love it so much.

I highly recommend ordering from her and reading her posts!
You can find her blog HERE.

Rachel's Style Report: Shirt Dress

One of my favorite new trends is the shirt dress. If you are familiar with this fall style, then now is the time to become acquainted. With cooler weather finally setting in, the shirt dress is a great transitional piece from summer to fall. Shirt dresses are so easy to wear, whether dressed up or down. They can go from casual to sophisticated in a matter of minutes, simply by changing your accessories or makeup. Upgrade your fall wardrobe with some of my favorite shirt dress picks:

Poison cupcakes.

Have you ever decided to try a new recipe, only to have it be a complete failure?
Yeah.
That just happened.

While shopping at Target the other day, Taylor found a FROSTING CREATIONS KIT.
We bought it.

French vanilla cupcakes with white chocolate morsels and white chocolate raspberry frosting was the plan.
My mouth was watering as I envisioned my new creation sweeping across Pinterest.
I was going to be cupcake famous.

And then we made the frosting.

I can't describe the torture that my tongue endured after just a small sampling.
Poison, maybe?
Yes.
Poison.
I do not condone making this frosting.

I do condone adding lots of white chocolate to your vanilla cupcake batter, though.
My favorite non-poison.

Above: Warner enjoying some raw non-poison.

Don't let it's looks deceive you.
Don't pin this.
Don't make this.
Don't eat this.

Please warn the others.

;)

Happy Thursday.

One afternoon.

Out of school early on Wednesdays.
Sweaty faces.
Air conditioning blasting in the car.
Baby cooing.
Windows down.
Air conditioning chills all over my arms.
Laughter.
Noisy iPad game.
Ruffling through backpacks.
Papers shifting.
Gum wrapper unwrapping.
Lips smacking.
Baby fussing.
Whining.
More laughter.
Wrong turns.
Long walk.
Grassy feet.
Cold toes.
Splinter from the trees.
Hot sun.
Muddy blanket.
Drool.
More laughter.

This was my afternoon.
Typical.
Wonderful.
I never want to forget days like these.

I love you, motherhood.
