What I Whipped Up Wednesday

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that today was a bit stressful for me.
Little man has turned me into a human pacifier.
Every other day I have thought it was the cutest thing in the world that he needs me so much.
Today was different.
Exhausting.
More on that later.

I hope you're not as tired as I am.

I'm going to jump right into it this week, friends.
There are lots of things coming to the blog at the end of this week, and I don't want to overwhelm you all with too much stuff.

Last week...

Laura Beth from A Step in the Journey showed you all how to create the perfect Chevron Pattern:

Shannon from Sewing Barefoot made these adorable Personalized Dishes:

Brief.

Today one of my brothers is on a plane to Korea.
He is moving there to teach English.
This past weekend, we had a going away party for him.
I didn't get a single photo of us together.
At the party, both of my parents were there.
And both of my brothers.
My parents divorced when I was 13, and I had plans for weeks to get one last family photo of the five of us together since we would all be at the event.
We all live in different areas, and with one of us moving out of the country, I knew this was my shot.
And I blew it.
When I realized that my plans didn't come together like I had imagined, I spent an entire afternoon crying.
And now I'm not sure when I will have a chance like that again.
A brief chance.
And it's gone.
Thankfully, while I still have a good memory, I can look back at these photos and remember what the entire weekend was like.
A weekend full of brief moments with family and friends.
Brief moments that mean so much to me.

The last photo was taken seconds after telling Taylor, "We'll be leaving the park in just a minute."
The look of panic.
Knowing her time left to play was brief.
Her little mind racing to think of all the things she wanted to do before we left.
I did the same thing this weekend.
Panicked as the baby started crying at the going away party; signaling that it was time for us to get home and get back to our routine.
None of my plans could take place.
My goodbye to my brother was rushed.
Brief.

I hope that my memory never fails me.
Because it was such a wonderful weekend.

September sponsorships are open!

I knew that my pregnancy wasn't going to go full-term, so I changed sponsorships to accommodate the duration of Summer.
I opened the Summer Linky Party and offered low prices so that everyone had a chance to advertise during the busy Summer months.
Now that school will be in full-force again, and the holidays are right around the corner, now is the perfect time to get your blog name and/or shop name out there!

Since having the baby, blog traffic has increased steadily.
Sponsorships will be back to regular prices and are subject to change as readership grows.

Prior to announcing Summer ad prices, my Premium Ad Space was booked through December.
Large ad space and small ad space will open up again on September 1st.
Prices are good for the duration of September.

If you are interested in ad space, please email me (SugarAndDots@gmail.com) with the subject "September Ad Space" as the subject.
Please be sure to include your PayPal email address, your button, and the link you would like your button to go to.
If you need me to create a button for you, I can do so for an additional $2.

I am so excited to work with you this Fall!

Also, if you haven't already, be sure to link up to Summer Linky Party!
There are only a few days left of free ad space!

What I Whipped Up Wednesday

How long has it been since I've opened the party for you guys?!
All of my spare time (HA!) lately has been spent behind my camera and online getting ready for September here on the ol' blog.
Come September, there will be a new look, new sponsorship options, new giveaways, and more new photos of my kids than you could ever imagine.
Exciting stuff!
I'm taking charge of my blog again, and it feels amazing.

Before Franklin arrived, there were quite a few features that I wanted to share with you.
And then Franklin was all, "No. I will be born first."
And that was that.

The boys' bedroom.

I want to remember this room exactly how it is right now.
Warner and Franklin's bedroom.
I have a ton of projects that will make their bedroom complete, but I can't freeze time.
By the time those projects are complete, there may not be a changing pad on top of the dresser.
Or onesies in the closet.
I want to remember this room and how it feels to be in it right now.
The sweet smell of baby lotion.
The piles of books from naptime.
All of it.

Franky sleeps in a Pack N Play in our bedroom.
He's currently asleep in the "newborn napper" section as I type this from my bed.
My boys don't yet share their space other than their belongings... Warner is still in bed with us every night, and Franky is directly on the other side of me.
I am sandwiched between them.
And happy.

Almost everything in their room is from Ikea.
The yellow thing is an old gun cabinet that I purchased from a friend.
I originally planned on it being a little reading nook, but it will soon house our tortoise's cage.
And once the baby grows out of his many hats, I really don't know what I'll do with that space.
I'll cross that bridge when I get there I guess.

The rug is from Walmart.
The curtain is a shower curtain draped over the curtain rod. It's from Target. It was on sale.
The ceiling fan is striped with washi tape, but totally falling apart. Nesting FAIL.
The paper bunting is vintage Babar stories from this rad girl.
The bedding is Pottery Barn Kids. It was also on sale.
The baby pictures are Warner when he was one month old. They are identical to Franky.
The orange cat is from my Uncle Chris.
The changing pad cover is from Marshalls.
Everything else is either really old (boombox FTW), thrifted, gifted, or literally found on the side of the road.
It is a hodepodge of love and memories.
And yes, the clock on the wall is upside down.

Happy Monday.
