Please excuse the dust around here.
I finally changed the design like I've been saying I would be.
And I'm changing a few other things, too.
Today I am really super sick and it was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
I'll be finishing up the rest of the edits tomorrow.
If my fever doesn't spike again.
Until then, please ignore the pure chaos that is Sugar and Dots right now.

What I Whipped Up Wednesday- Friday Edition

Last week we had fewer links than the week before, but it was still an amazing party!
The pageviews here on Wednesdays have increased steadily, and now they are nearly off the charts!
I love seeing what you all create...let's re-visit last week:

Krystina has inspired me to purchase a crappy old birdcage and turn a masterpiece out of it:

Manni whipped up something amazing...literally. This fab French Kiss Cupcake is swoon worthy:

Jo made this pin cushion jar that would be a lovely gift for a crafty friend:

Heather created her first bib necklace and it came out beautiful:

Now on to linking up your fab projects! Remember, any link is fine as long as it is your own and links to the specific post and not your blog's homepage! I love seeing all of the things that you want to show off. :)
Feel free to grab the button so that others can join in on the fun!

Linky will close Monday at 11:59 PM.
Happy Friday!

*ETA: I had this post scheduled for midnight and when I checked to see how many links there were this morning, I saw that my post wasn't posted and was still a draft. Has that happened to anyone before? Sorry for the can thank Blogger. :)

Five years.

Today is Riley's fifth birthday.
I have never had a full-term pregnancy, but this one was the most difficult delivery.
You can read Riley's story here.
Or you can choose not to.
Either way, today is Riley's 5th birthday.
And I will celebrate all that Riley's story has brought me.
The list is long.
Riley is so much a part of my future and not just a part of my past.
Just knowing that is comforting during a time when comfort is difficult to seek.
Thank you all so much for your kind words.
I will respond to each and every email and comment soon.
Sending you my love today.

What I Whipped Up Wednesday- Week 16...

...will be postponed until Friday February 25th.
It will open at 12:01 AM (PST) on Friday, and close on Monday at 11:59 PM (PST).

I have some good news, and I have some bad news...

The good news is that there are two fun new sponsors here at Sugar and Dots!
Meet Lauren. She calls herself "the girl behind the trunk" and I adore her blog! She also has a fab Etsy shop full of fun goodies to satisfy the inner-hostess in you!
Meet Courtney. She's actually the sister-in-law of one of my childhood friends. Even if I didn't know her IRL, I would be stalking her Etsy shop for her crazy cute home decor and kids items! And, she has a new Facebook page- yay!
I'm actually thrilled to welcome them this very second! Not only are their products adorable, but right now, I could use some happiness.

The bad news is that today marks the five year anniversary of the worst day of my life.
I need this banner like no other.

Today I will grieve and try to keep myself crazy busy to avoid breakdowns in public like every other year.
And, I will be spending some time with a representative from our car insurance company.
Remember how I recently survived 5 weeks without my car while they completed $12,368.25 in damage from my accident at the beginning of 2011?
Well, 11 days after getting my car back, today I was hit while taking my daughter to school.
We were parked.
The hit was hard, and it was early and 45 degrees, so I think we felt the impact more than we should have, but we're okay.
As if life couldn't bring me down any more.

Today, please forgive me in the delay of the linky party.
I just need to focus on remembering our angel baby and trying to pick up the pieces of our forever-crumbling lives.

What I Whipped Up Wednesday- Week 15

I cannot believe we got close to 100 links last week!
You ladies ROCK!
Think we can make it to 100 this week?!

Want to see my favesies?!

Steph made homemade donuts that look just like my favorite donut store served them. You can bet your bottom dollar that Saturday morning will involve this recipe!

Amelia made these butterscotch beakfast bars that look amazing! You all know that bikini season is right around the corner, right? These posts with delicious foods are going to kill me. ;)

Michelle made this adorable garland out of paint chips. This gives me a gazillion ideas for all kinds of holidays and occasions! Love!

Kim made super cute felt desserts, but her pictures are locked so I can't show you how cute they are. Go check them out on her blog!

Dana made dog leash hooks that are fun and practical. We have a little zoo here, so these are definitely on my "to make" list!

Jen created one of the most gorgeous quilts I have ever seen. You have to go see how beautiful her work is!

Malory made this stunning felt rose wreath. It reminds me of my faux rosewood wreath, but is much more feminine. So lovely!

Jenn made fun play mats that I know my kiddos will love!

Now on to linking up your fab projects! Remember, any link is fine as long as it is your own and links to the specific post and not your blog's homepage! I love seeing all of the things that you want to show off. :)

Feel free to grab the button so that others can join in on the fun!

Linky will be open NOW until 11:59 PM on Friday.

Happy Wednesday, lovelies!

Sponsor Spotlight

I have been putting off this post for so long because I keep planning on re-designing my blog and switching things up with my sponsors section.
Obviously my blog design hasn't changed and I have gazillion things on my plate to accomplish before that can happen.
I worked on an idea for a new header today.

If I decide that I hate this one, too, after some time, it will become a blog button option for you lovelies.
Blog design is impossible when I can't categorize my blog into a particuliar genre.
Please tell me you've struggled with that, too.

Moving on...

Have you checked out the wonderful links on my sidebar recently?
I am thrilled that I can actually say that I would shop from and have lunch with any of my sponsors.
They are beyond rad!

Sure Cuts A Lot for Cricut
Sure Cuts A Lot came around before the Silhouette SD machine, and I became so pro at it that it helped me create things like sperm confetti and silhouettes of my family. I am honored that they have provided me with a link to offer you the best deals, and I can't say enough good things about the software. If you still don't own a Silhouette SD but want the same creative freedom, I highly recommend this product! If you have a Cricut, you need this. For reals.

Fingerprints on the Fridge
Rachelle is so funny that she makes me pee. Okay, that probably isn't a selling point, but seriously, her text messages should be printed into book format and published so that the world can fully appreciate her wit and sarcasm. Oh, and she's talented. She makes rad things like jute monograms and sells them in her shop. She also does crazy awesome makeovers throughout her house. Visit her. You'll love her.

Shey[B] The Camera Strap Girl
I adore Shealynn. She is so encouraging and thoughtful, and always says something sweet to me via Twitter. I love that she supports this blog and I love even more that she has a fun surprise for Sugar and Dots readers once I get my act together with the blog re-design! She creates incredible camera straps and fun gifts for you and your loved ones. Check her out and fall in love.

Tatertots and Jello
You all know Jen. She is the queen of blogland and one of my favorite bloggers. Her endless support and kindness is so appreciated; and I know I'm not the only one that she's lending a helping hand to. If you read her blog, then you know what I mean. Her home is amazing, and her creativity is jealousy-inducing. I doubt you aren't already her biggest fan, but just in case you're not yet, go see how amazing she is for yourself!

Heather Myers Graphic Design
I met sweet Heather a few months after starting this blog, and fell in love with her business card. When I found out that she designed her logo herself, I had to know more. Turns out, the pretty mama is uber talented and creates mini-masterpieces in her spare time. She is the brain behind the logo for Blog*Sugar, and would love to create something specifically for you. She is quick to respond to email, and is fantastic to work with! If you're trying to come up with the perfect look for your blog, shop, or business card, she is the girl for you!

The Pleated Polkadot
Melissa has an adorable shop filled with amazing high-quality items in bright, happy colors. I adore her blog full of sweet thoughts and great ideas. She has talent oozing out of every part of her internet persona! Seriously, if I could even get the guts to attempt one of her adorbs clutches, I'd be happy. Visit her links and enjoy!

Four Flights of Fancy
Andrea is actually my daughter's friend's mom's sister-in-law. Did you get all of that? I officially met her at Blog*Sugar, but adored her via her blog and shop way before then. She is quite the fashionista, and this year, she is a fashionista with a budget and a plan. Her "Project 2011" posts will inspire you! Oh, and to top it off, she lives next door to a castle and can sew like a pro. I'm not kidding.

Angel Face Designs
Heather is so stinkin' cute that she kills me! Her family is stunning and she has great taste in dog breeds (we have the same breeds and love all of our pups!). She owns and creates adorable jewelry, and she blogs about amazing parties that she throws and other fab aspects of her happy life. She is funny and kind, and once you've gotten to know her even a little bit, you'll be hooked!

Sew Chatty
How cute are Elizabeth's blog and shop name?! Almost as cute as her products. ;) Seriously, this girl can sew! She uses the coolest fabric, and her products are all adorable. Her shop is currently on vacation, but that's only because she's out selling her goods like a mad woman at craft fairs. Stick around, because her items are "sew" cute!

Moxie Mandie
I discovered Mandie on Twitter, and could not have found a more perfect zippered pouch for myself! The fabric matches my blog's polkadot background beautifully, and the quality of her products is fantastic! She even sent The Girl her own zippered pouch as a birthday gift with my order. Great customer service is my favorite thing on the planet, and Mandie goes above and beyond for her customers!

A huge thank you to all of my sponsors and to all of my readers who continue to support Sugar and Dots!

Crazy low price for Frayed Blooms! (Advice, please!)

I've decided that after listing sets of Frayed Blooms in my shop and not selling any, that I need to switch some things up.
Frayed Blooms will now be $5.00 each and can be worn as a hair clip and as a pin/brooch. The pin/clip is a solid piece on "white metal". I spent the money finding the perfect backing instead of just adding separate pin backs and alligator clips to each one.

Yes, I am proud of the quality of these little beauties.
I have a gazillion made and ready to be shipped, but I need your help.
I will be replacing the four current listings in my shop with four individual Frayed Blooms.
Please tell me which four I should list as the first batch of $5.00 Blooms!

Which four are your favorite?

What I Whipped Up Wednesday- Week 14

Hi friends!
I've been away from the blog scene for about a week or so...quick linky party...chaos.
Today I had planned on opening the linky party early to make up for last week.
Unfortunately I missed all of Brent's memos and lost my subscription to Linky Tools.
Hubby just fixed everything for me and paid the subscription so that you lovelies can enter your links.
Apologies for the announcement on Twitter and late linky party.
I'll keep it open until Saturday this week so that you can add several links!

On with the eye candy:

Malory made this adorable zipper rose and posted a full photo tutorial, too. So cute!

Jennifer made this squash casserole that I think everyone in my family would love. And if not, I will happily eat all of it all by myself!

This KooKoo Craft doll named Zoe puts a smile on my face!

Mallory made this adorable Valentine's Day wreath. It's simplicity makes it absolutely stunning!

Sarah made this rad Scrabble tile pillow that I fully intend on copying. She also made one with a Diet Coke logo. If I can get her to switch to Coke Zero, she might become my new BFF. ;)

The Apple Attic posted about the adorable fabric alphabet they created. I love this idea and love that the template is in the post. Bloggers who link-back and post awesome crafts make me uber happy! This is perfect for my new childcare, too.

Blondray made these adorable faux cupcakes that you all know will be sitting in my kitchen the very second I have time to craft again!

Kerri-Lynn created an adorable nursery for her twin boys using mod elephants. I could live in this room! I actually have a pile of the same scrapbook paper from when I created my son's mod elephant nursery back in the day. His collection was by Amy Coe, though. Yadda yadda...go check this awesome room out!

My sweet friend Marta created a fantastic wall in her home that was inspired by the wall in our old house. Seeing our walls side by side in photographs makes me realize how very true that phrase is. Life is beautiful. So incredibly beautiful.

My bloggy BFF Rachelle re-did her hallway and posted all about it. In the same post, she mentioned her use of hotel door numbers {swoon} and photographed them above the glass door knobs. You have to see the awesomesauce post!

This hidden washer and dryer got my wheels turning and has me thinking of endless possibilities that a little bit of velcro and fabric can create! Love the fabric she chose, too!

Phew, that was guys are talented!
Now it's your turn to link up to party number fourteen...woot!

Here are a few things to remember:
Must be your project...any craft, recipe, makeover, or idea you want to show off.
Must be linked to the specific blog post; not just your blog's url.
Feel free to grab the button so that others can link up too!

Happy Wednesday!
